Oakland’s Power Surge Leads to Victory

A’s Win Fourth Straight Game

The Oakland Athletics defeated the Chicago Cubs 5-2 on Tuesday night at the Oakland Coliseum. The A’s hit three home runs in the game, including a two-run shot by Matt Olson in the first inning. Sean Murphy and Chad Pinder also homered for Oakland.

The A’s have now won four straight games and are 10-5 in their last 15 games. The Cubs have lost four of their last five games.

Chris Bassitt started for the A’s and allowed two runs on six hits over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four batters and walked two.

Liam Hendriks pitched the ninth inning for the A’s and earned his fifth save of the season.

The A’s will face the Cubs again on Wednesday night at the Oakland Coliseum.
